Jesus was the last Passover Lamb for after him there was no need for any more sacrifices Hebrews 10:9-10 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.And sacrifice did end with the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem in 70 A. D. His sacrifice where He laid down His life for His elect forever has redeemed them. This all was accomplished on the cross.
His final entrance into Jerusalem set in motion all that had bee foreshadowed by the Passover lambs of the centuries which had been offered. He was selected, He was examined for defects and faults and finally was offered. His blood shed for many. He was 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb then being alive once again demonstrating to us the proof of the promise of Everlasting Life.
