THE TRUTH IS – CONTEXT is a major factor in determining the exact truth in the K.J.T.
Most times, so-called Christian preachers avoid context, and apply “language” only. Many times truth can be determined from language only, but ALWAYS “context” is the major deterrent, eliminating any and all errors, flaws and misapplications, teaching untruths.
One major example of this lesson comes to mind, wherein truth is applied, but that is NOT the context. Go to Psalms 118:24 – “This is the day the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” The TRUTH is, this particular context concerns the lesson of Jesus Christ being rejected by the Jews when He was on Earth. The analogy is contextually referring to when the Temple was being built under Solomon’s Kingship, all the timbers and stones were already hewn and cut, in their natural habitat before being delivered to the site where it was to be assembled – Read: 1st Kings 6:7, 16-18; Matt. 21:42-45. Jesus Christ as the Messiah was rejected as being the VERY PERSON of all O.T. lessons pointing to the future coming of a Saviour. When the Gentiles finally did recognize that this babe of Bethlehem was “that stone” and did fit perfectly into the Temple, the N.T. Church of God, they rejoiced and was glad in that day. Yes, “that stone” was rejected by The Jews, but glorified by the Gentiles.
